Stainless bends

  4. Manufacturing Processes:

    • Stainless bends can be manufactured using various methods, including hot bending, cold bending, and mandrel bending.
    • Hot bending involves heating the pipe to a specific temperature and then bending it to the desired shape. Cold bending is performed at room temperature without heating the pipe, but it may require multiple passes to achieve the desired curvature.
    • Mandrel bending uses a mandrel (a solid rod) inserted into the pipe to support the inner wall and prevent wrinkling or deformation during bending, resulting in a smoother bend with consistent dimensions.
  5. Standards and Specifications:

    • Stainless bends are manufactured according to industry standards such as ASTM A403, ASME B16.9, and EN 10253, which specify dimensions, materials, tolerances, and testing requirements.
    • Compliance with these standards ensures that stainless bends meet quality and performance requirements for use in piping systems.
